The Skills Training & Curriculum Development Coordinator will play a pivotal role in Project Renewal's Next Step program, which is dedicated to assisting homeless, formerly homeless, and low-income individuals in securing competitive employment. This award-winning job placement program has been operational since 2000 and has successfully helped nearly 5,000 New Yorkers achieve economic security and lead fulfilling lives. The Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing training curricula, facilitating workshops, and overseeing a team of trainers and support staff. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of the barriers faced by individuals in the job market, particularly those with histories of homelessness, substance use, and criminal justice involvement. The Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Next Step and the Assistant Program Director to ensure the effective delivery of workforce development programs, including the Next Step Internship Program, Human Services Training, Employment Training Program, and Culinary Arts Training Program. In this role, the Coordinator will administer and facilitate a variety of workshops focused on soft skills, competency-building, internship preparation, digital literacy, financial literacy, and job readiness. They will oversee the performance of trainers, interns, and volunteers, ensuring that the team is skilled and passionate about their work. The Coordinator will also manage job retention processes, utilizing data and metrics to drive program improvements and ensure that performance milestones are met. This includes maintaining an up-to-date client database and preparing accurate performance reports. The Coordinator will be responsible for developing training schedules, setting performance expectations for instructors, and conducting regular evaluations to assess their effectiveness. Additionally, they will review and enhance training materials and develop new workshops that align with job market demands, as well as design alumni workshops and activities to support ongoing career development.
