About the position

The Program Coordinator for the Tulane Interdisciplinary Environmental Research & Action Program (TIERA) plays a crucial role in enhancing the student participant experience. This position is centered around effective communication with students and key stakeholders, ensuring that the program is well-coordinated and meets the needs of all involved. The coordinator will be responsible for the development and implementation of programmatic activities, which includes evaluating and refining curricular offerings to ensure they are engaging and educational. Additionally, the role involves marketing and promoting the TIERA program both within Tulane University and to external audiences, thereby increasing visibility and participation in the program. In this role, the Program Coordinator will also manage student involvement, ensuring that students are actively engaged in their projects and that their needs are met throughout their participation in the program. This includes gathering and analyzing data to assess the effectiveness of program elements and curriculum, allowing for continuous improvement. The coordinator will work closely with community partners, particularly those based in Ecuador, to align program activities with community needs and expectations, fostering a collaborative environment that benefits both students and the communities they engage with. Overall, the Program Coordinator is expected to be a proactive and organized individual who can juggle multiple responsibilities while maintaining a focus on enhancing the educational experience of students involved in the TIERA program.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or a High School Diploma with 4 years of experience mentoring young adults.
  • Ability to organize and manage diverse types of information including student projects and community partner needs.
  • Ability to assist with student project development.
  • Effective communication skills with students, faculty, and community partners.
  • Ability to use a data-driven approach to improve program elements and curriculum.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with international education or Latin America study abroad programs.
  • Experience with curriculum development and community engagement.
  • Experience with marketing and social media management.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Strong organizational skills.
