About the position

The Program Coordinator role at PRS is a part-time position focused on enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families in affordable housing communities. The coordinator will implement programs that build knowledge, marketable skills, and promote a healthy lifestyle among residents. This position requires a self-starter who is organized, resourceful, and passionate about community service, working independently to foster engagement and support within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a link between PRS and the affordable housing community, maintaining a professional relationship with residents and management.
  • Create and implement a monthly calendar of developmental activities and essential resources for residents.
  • Provide a welcoming atmosphere at the community center and serve as the initial point of contact for residents.
  • Prepare reports based on program activities, including sign-in sheets and contracted hours.
  • Design and post monthly calendars and flyers to advertise activities and programs.
  • Oversee program offerings, recruit volunteers, solicit donations, and collaborate with community partners.
  • Log communications with volunteers and community partners, submitting monthly logs.
  • Provide information about local resources to residents and enlist their support for program planning.
  • Monitor and interact with residents, including children, adults, and seniors, to assess needs.
  • Maintain organization of PRS documents and supplies, ensuring a clean community center.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work 3 days per week during specified hours (9-2pm and 12-5pm, Monday-Friday).
  • Relevant experience in education, social work, non-profit, or a related field; volunteer experience is acceptable.
  • Experience working with children, teens, adults, and/or seniors.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational, computer, and administrative skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with community and social service resources.
  • Must have a home computer, access to email, and capability for light printing.
