About the position

The Program Coordinator at Soccer Without Borders (SWB) Colorado plays a vital role in delivering impactful soccer programming for newcomer youth in East Denver. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about using soccer as a tool for social change and who are committed to fostering an inclusive environment for youth from refugee, asylee, and immigrant backgrounds. The Program Coordinator will co-lead various programs, including TEAM programs for middle and high school students, summer camps, and youth leadership training. The focus will be on creating specialized programming for male-identifying participants, ensuring that all activities are tailored to meet the unique needs of the youth served. The role involves direct service, where the Program Coordinator will envision and deliver high-quality soccer programming that integrates English language development and supports the holistic growth of participants. Building relationships with youth and their families is crucial, as is facilitating trauma-informed practices and off-the-field activities that promote social-emotional learning. The Program Coordinator will also engage in program planning and partnership management, working closely with school and community partners to ensure successful program implementation. In addition to direct service, the Program Coordinator will manage part-time employees and volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective program delivery. Professional development is a key component of this role, with opportunities for ongoing training and collaboration with other SWB coaches. The Program Coordinator will also participate in strategic planning and organizational activities, contributing to the overall mission of SWB to create a more inclusive world through soccer.

Responsibilities

  • Co-lead programming activities for TEAM programs at Aurora Hills Middle School and Aurora West College Preparatory Academy.
  • Plan and implement Boys Community-Based TEAM High School Program in the Spring.
  • Deliver Denver Metro Area Summer Camps and Youth Leaders Training.
  • Build relationships with youth and families for recruitment and retention.
  • Facilitate SWB's program model for all program types, including Camps and Clinics.
  • Manage individual youth support and check-ins in partnership with the East Denver Program Coordinator Co-Lead.
  • Lead off-the-field activities supporting holistic development, such as tutoring and leadership classes.
  • Direct program planning in partnership with Program Coordinator Co-Lead, ensuring high-quality programming.
  • Serve as lead partnership manager at program sites, liaising with school and community partners.
  • Process new enrollments, record attendance, and input survey data in UpShot.
  • Manage budgets for East Denver TEAM Middle School, High School Community-Based, and Summer Camp programs.
  • Manage part-time employees and volunteers, providing supervision and feedback.
  • Engage in professional development and participate in strategic planning and organizational activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent skills.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to inspire a team.
  • Experience in soccer coaching or playing.
  • Driver's license and personal transportation.
  • Work authorization in the United States.
