About the position

The Program Coordinator at Tarzana Treatment Center is responsible for the overall day-to-day supervision of assigned staff and the daily operations of the program or unit. This role includes overseeing patient activities and staff responsibilities as they relate to patient functions, ensuring that the treatment philosophy of Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. (TTC) is implemented effectively. The position requires a strong focus on staff and patient safety, which involves oversight of physical plant maintenance functions and regular chart audits to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations. The Program Coordinator will also be involved in the development and submission of various reporting requirements, including Continuous Quality Assurance reports and performance improvement reports. In addition to administrative duties, the Program Coordinator will actively seek to expand the network of referral resources through networking and outreach activities. The role requires participation in in-service training and educational workshops, as well as attending required staff meetings. The Program Coordinator is expected to conduct themselves professionally, serving as a role model for both staff and patients, and to maintain a full understanding of the agency's philosophy and objectives, including professional ethics and patient confidentiality. The position also involves managing day-to-day patient operations, including overseeing patient flow, placement, and orientation, as well as supervising staff activities and ensuring compliance with documentation standards. The Program Coordinator will assist the Director with staff evaluations, hiring activities, and scheduling, while also participating in agency-wide committees and community outreach events as needed. This multifaceted role is crucial for maintaining the quality of care and operational efficiency within the treatment center.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned staff and oversee day-to-day operations of the program or unit.
  • Ensure staff and patient safety through oversight of physical plant maintenance functions.
  • Perform regular chart audits and maintain documentation compliance according to TTC policies and external regulations.
  • Develop and submit various reporting requirements, including Continuous Quality Assurance and performance improvement reports.
  • Expand the network of referral resources through networking and outreach activities.
  • Attend in-service training and educational workshops, as well as required staff meetings.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner and serve as a role model for staff and patients.
  • Oversee patient flow, placement, and orientation, including UA testing oversight and reporting.
  • Assist the Director with staff evaluations, hiring activities, and scheduling.
  • Participate in agency-wide committees and community outreach events.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required; higher education (Bachelor's or Master's degree) may be required depending on contractual obligations.
  • Counselor registration or certification is required if providing SUD services.
  • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in behavioral healthcare services or chemical dependency treatment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage crisis situations effectively.
