About the position

The Program Coordinator is a full-time, non-exempt position responsible for managing multiple projects aligned with the mission and goals of the Central New York Area Health Education Center (CNYAHEC). This role involves collaboration with local partners to achieve objectives in public health and community engagement, requiring occasional evening and weekend work. Reliable transportation is necessary for accessing various counties, and the position is subject to grant funding.

Responsibilities

  • Develop program specific work plans to include goals and timelines for completion.
  • Implement and coordinate assigned programs in alignment with the work plan.
  • Develop outreach materials and presentations for organizational projects as required.
  • Support and maintain existing CNYAHEC relationships to promote and market new programs and initiatives.
  • Identify new strategic partners and collaborations to support programming.
  • Act as a liaison with partners and other organizations to assure the goals and objectives of CNYAHEC are met.
  • Take initiative to support and develop CNYAHEC projects.
  • Prepare cohesive, succinct reports detailing project activities.
  • Enter programmatic data into a database program (AHEC Tracker).
  • Regularly review project performance against program expectations and adjust activities as needed.
  • Contribute to grants by determining needs and assisting with development and writing of proposals.
  • Contribute to website and social media content that is reflective of CNYAHEC's current activities.
  • Facilitate team efforts on assigned projects.
  • Communicate skillfully with CNYAHEC staff and interns, as well as local, regional, and statewide partners.
  • Attend meetings/conferences, participate on local or regional committees/work groups.
  • Perform other duties and/or tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience required.
  • Background in public health, social work, education, or similar field strongly preferred.
  • Program Management experience preferred.
  • Community Engagement experience preferred.
  • Outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including public speaking and ability to facilitate working sessions.
  • Ability to work with a diverse constituency including community members, academic students and faculty, community partners, funders and government officials.
  • Proficiency with Office 365 applications (including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills required including ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and maintain high quality results.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Capacity to exercise sound judgment in selected areas with little benefit of precedent.
  • Ability to pivot in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Interest in healthcare, public health, community building, workforce development, health professions education/training.
