The Fund for Advancement of Minorities through Education (FAME) is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on enhancing the educational opportunities for students of color in the Greater Pittsburgh area. Established over 30 years ago, FAME provides need-based scholarships to talented African American students, enabling them to access high-quality independent school education. The FAME Scholar Program supports students from grades 3 through 12 with scholarships and additional enrichment resources, including tutoring, internships, and leadership development workshops. FAME is committed to empowering African American youth to become future leaders and community stewards, fostering a collaborative environment among educators who are passionate about educational equity. The Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in executing a variety of Scholar programs and providing essential support to FAME's core initiatives. This position serves as the primary contact for 11th and 12th-grade Scholars and their families, offering academic and college preparation counseling, as well as coordinating events and enrichment activities. The Program Coordinator will work closely with other FAME leaders and report directly to the Scholar Program Director. The role encompasses guidance and counseling, program planning and development, advocacy for Scholars, assessment analysis, and maintaining professionalism and ethical standards within the organization. In this position, the Program Coordinator will demonstrate the ability to help high school Scholars maximize their academic achievement and personal development. They will work collaboratively with students, parents, and educators to ensure that each Scholar receives the necessary support to thrive academically and socially. The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for planning and executing various enrichment programs, workshops, and events that align with FAME's mission to support the educational journey of African American students. This role requires a proactive approach to program development, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all Scholars.
