About the position

The Department of Medicine at UCLA Health Systems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Coordinator to oversee a major, autonomous academic or research program. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing strategic program goals, designing and executing detailed plans, and ensuring the efficient management of the program's budget and resources. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing research initiatives, academic projects, and collaborative efforts, as well as managing relationships with stakeholders, including faculty, researchers, students, and external partners. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and detail-oriented, possessing excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of driving program success in a dynamic academic research environment. In this role, the Program Coordinator will engage in various activities that include coordinating program activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring that all aspects of the program align with the strategic objectives of the Department of Medicine. The position requires a strong ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills, as well as the capacity to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers. The Program Coordinator will also play a key role in fundraising efforts, leveraging solid fundraising experience to support the program's initiatives and goals.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources, and financial principles and practices.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and independently on complex concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.
  • Solid fundraising experience.
