About the position

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Cancer Center. This position is pivotal in coordinating cancer research education programs, which includes maintaining web pages and application portals, managing application processes, and assisting with participant recruitment. The Program Coordinator will work closely with Program Directors to facilitate mentor-matching processes and collaborate with various stakeholders to create, implement, and analyze program evaluations and participant tracking surveys. Additionally, the role involves coordinating human resources processes for onboarding program participants, including hiring and access processes, as well as managing travel and housing arrangements for out-of-state participants. In terms of event and meeting planning, the Program Coordinator will organize program events, handle logistics such as room reservations and catering, and create program materials including agendas and certificates. The role also includes assisting in the development of creative materials like PowerPoint presentations and brochures, and managing program event calendars. Furthermore, the Program Coordinator will assist program directors with grant applications, manage financial accounts, and ensure adherence to budget policies. This position requires independent management of logistics and planning for various educational outreach activities and events. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate cancer research education programs, including managing application processes and participant recruitment.
  • Maintain education program web pages and application portals.
  • Organize and execute the competitive review process of applicants.
  • Work with Program Directors to coordinate mentor-matching processes.
  • Create, implement, and analyze program evaluation and participant tracking surveys in collaboration with the CU Evaluation Center and CRTEC leaders.
  • Coordinate human resources processes for onboarding program participants, including hiring and access processes.
  • Manage travel and housing arrangements for out-of-state program participants.
  • Organize program events, including room reservations, catering, and creating program agendas and materials.
  • Assist in the development of creative materials such as PowerPoint presentations and brochures.
  • Coordinate with the UCCC Communications office to disseminate programmatic events and announcements.
  • Assist program directors with grant applications and manage financial accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • One year of professional level experience in a program coordination role within an academic, healthcare, or business-related environment (for Intermediate level).
  • Two years of professional level experience in a program coordination role within an academic, healthcare, or business-related environment (for Senior level).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to represent the Cancer Center with professionalism.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional and progressively responsible program coordination experience.
  • Experience with University of Colorado finance systems (i.e. Peoplesoft, Concur, M@rketplace).
  • Experience working in an academic medical setting or secondary science education.
