Our founders believe that building affordable housing is only the first step. It is also essential to provide meaningful programs that empower people to move forward in their lives. The Program Coordinator, under the direction of the Regional Director of Social Services, is expected to design, implement, and coordinate activities and programs within assigned affordable housing complexes. This position works closely with the Director of Social Services (DSS) to provide the highest quality of service to the residents served by LifeSTEPS. The core duties include empowering children from low-income and underserved families to flourish by providing after-school education and resources. The coordinator will ensure that young individuals have a caring and safe place to go after school to get assistance with homework and academic enrichment. The goal is to encourage children to thrive and become empowered so they can develop into resilient adults.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and coordinate activities and programs within assigned affordable housing complexes.
  • Work closely with the Director of Social Services to provide high-quality service to residents.
  • Empower children from low-income and underserved families through after-school education and resources.
  • Ensure a caring and safe environment for children to receive homework assistance and academic enrichment.
  • Encourage children to thrive and develop into resilient adults.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a similar environment providing services.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Valid California Driving License and reliable, insured transportation required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with low-income and underserved populations.
  • Knowledge of community resources and services available to residents.
