About the position

The Program Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the InnovateUS program team by leading workstreams related to program operations and communications. This role involves leading learner communications, providing support to a growing community of learners, reporting on program progress, and supporting program leadership in drafting and engaging relevant stakeholders to grow our community of learners across U.S. states. In 2019, we launched InnovateUS as a large-scale effort aimed at fundamentally addressing the innovation and tech skills gap in government. InnovateUS offers free at-your-own pace courses as well as weekly workshops on innovation skills for the public sector, with an emphasis on evidence-based and equitable approaches. The project is funded by The Rockefeller Foundation, Google.org and The Luce Foundation. You will work with leaders like Beth Noveck, Neil Kleiman and Chike Aguh to support this growing effort.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage marketing emails to engage and inform program participants for our live and online courses
  • Develop and maintain promotional materials for state partners
  • Draft regular updates for state partners and key funders to ensure consistent communication cadence with clear data and insights from our state based programming
  • Assist program leadership in fostering relationships with state partners including, but not limited to: following up on partner requests, sending out next steps from meetings and working with the program team to make sure projects are on track to deliver on state partner needs
  • Support program leadership as it relates to supporting learners participating in the Google Certificate program
  • Serve as the first point of contact for learner inquiries, providing prompt and helpful responses
  • Update tracking systems to amplify learner feedback and input, acting as the 'voice of the customer' in team meetings
  • Gather and compile data for internal team meetings, state partner communications, and funder reports
  • Prepare reports that provide insights into program performance and impact
  • Quickly learn new tools and technology to support the preparation information for reporting
  • Support all project-related operations for the InnovateUS program, ensuring smooth execution
  • Draft and edit content for the InnovateUS website and related platforms
  • Partner with design and tech teams to ensure website content is up to date, accurate, and reflects program goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, or similar technologies
  • Ability to prepare and understand basic reports of learner activity, and to identify significant changes
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in program coordination or related roles is a plus
  • Technical support experience is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms and website content management systems is a plus
