About the position
The Program Director for the 21st Century Learning Grant will lead initiatives aimed at enhancing educational outcomes for students during non-school hours. This role focuses on developing and implementing programs that provide academic enrichment and support in various areas, including arts, culture, and family education, while integrating career exploration and the RIASEC framework.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive programs designed to meet the educational needs of students in high-poverty and low-performing schools.
- Manage collaborations with educators, community leaders, and other stakeholders to create enriching educational experiences outside the standard curriculum.
- Ensure that all programs align with state and local academic standards and effectively integrate with students' regular academic programs.
- Supervise additional services, such as literacy and educational programs for families, aligning with the grant's goals to support community learning.
- Incorporate career exploration initiatives and the RIASEC framework into program activities, helping students understand their strengths and potential career paths.
- Maintain compliance with all grant requirements, manage documentation, and report to state education officials and funding bodies.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
- Valid K-12 Guidance Certificate.
- Proven experience in educational program management, preferably within grant-funded initiatives.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop and implement strategic visions in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a demonstrated capability to work with diverse communities and stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience with the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant or similar federal educational programs.
- Deep understanding of the challenges faced by students in high-poverty and low-performing schools.
