About the position

The Program Director for Online Programs at the College of Creative Arts and Media, West Virginia University, is responsible for leading the development, marketing, and management of a diverse portfolio of online graduate programs. This role combines curriculum expertise with marketing acumen to ensure programs align with industry trends and meet student needs. The director will oversee course offerings, maintain educational standards, and drive recruitment through strategic marketing efforts, making it essential for candidates to excel in both curriculum design and marketing strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Align curriculum with industry standards and maintain connections with industry professionals.
  • Implement standardized processes for curriculum review and development.
  • Develop and maintain detailed curriculum maps for online programs.
  • Prioritize continuous improvement of course materials with the latest industry tools and methodologies.
  • Lead the instructor course review process and implement necessary updates each term.
  • Manage the course development lifecycle and collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers.
  • Oversee textbook and resource selection, ensuring alignment with academic and industry standards.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communications strategies for online programs.
  • Drive recruitment initiatives across multiple channels to achieve enrollment goals.
  • Support message development that highlights the practitioner-focused curriculum.
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and recruitment activities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience managing online course curriculum.
  • Experience in IMC, PR, advertising, or related strategic communications.

  • Online course development/online teaching experience
  • Demonstrated success managing others remotely
  • Online course instruction/teaching experience is a plus.
