About the position

The Program Director for Distilled Spirits at Motlow State Community College is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Distilled Spirits Program, which includes course development, student recruitment, and providing high-quality instruction. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Distilled Spirits Program.
  • Develop courses and recruit students for the program.
  • Provide effective instruction in accordance with the course syllabus.
  • Facilitate student learning and evaluate student performance.
  • Recruit, hire, and oversee adjunct faculty for the program.
  • Advise and mentor students regarding academic and career goals.
  • Participate in budget preparation and program evaluation.
  • Build and coordinate laboratory experiences for students.
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration on curricular and programmatic issues.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations and accreditation requirements.
  • Engage in professional development and document continuing education activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and three years of work experience in Distilled Spirits, or an Associate's Degree with five years of experience in the field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills including database management and word processing.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies related to FERPA.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals and constituencies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Distilled Spirits or a related field from a regionally accredited university.
  • Five years of experience in Distilled Spirits.
