About the position

The Program Director for the Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program at Shenandoah University is a full-time, 12-month faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor. This role involves teaching, student advising, and participation in interprofessional education, scholarship, and service activities. The director will also engage in program planning and implementation, personnel management, and contribute to fostering a diverse and inclusive educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and advise students in the didactic and clinical phases of the Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program.
  • Participate in interprofessional education opportunities.
  • Engage in scholarship and research activities.
  • Provide service through active participation on program, school, and university committees.
  • Support professional service to the occupational therapy profession and clinical practice.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program.
  • Minimum of an earned Doctoral degree (clinical or research).
  • Minimum of eight years of current clinical experience.
  • Minimum of four years of experience as a faculty member with teaching responsibilities at the post-baccalaureate level.
  • Administrative experience including program planning, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting.
  • A record of scholarship in the field of occupational therapy.
  • Current NBCOT certification and eligibility for licensure in Virginia.
  • Current AOTA membership.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
