About the position

The Program Director, Philanthropic Communications at MD Anderson Cancer Center is responsible for defining, managing, and implementing the digital communications strategy to support philanthropic campaigns. This role involves overseeing the development and management of an interactive fundraising campaign microsite and ensuring effective communication strategies that align with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in editorial strategy, content management systems, and fundraising communications, along with experience working with executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage MD Anderson's digital communications strategy and programs in support of philanthropic campaigns.
• Lead the development and implementation of an interactive fundraising campaign microsite.
• Develop and manage content for the Campaign microsite and other digital platforms.
• Track and analyze the success of programs and initiatives, providing regular status reports.
• Write and edit fundraising-focused content for digital distribution.
• Act as a consultant regarding digital communications best practices for fundraising.
• Direct the work of senior communications specialists and external service providers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related field.
• Seven years of experience in public relations, communications, writing/editing or related field.
• Three years of lead/project management/supervisory/management experience.
• Strong writing and editing skills with command of AP and MD Anderson style.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related field.
• Experience with content management systems (CMS).
• Proficiency in digital communications best practices, including SEO and accessibility.
