About the position

As a Program Director in Vaccine Development Management, you will leverage your extensive experience to oversee the strategic and operational objectives of vaccine programs from early development through to licensure. Your role will involve providing project management expertise to ensure that operational deliverables are met on time and within budget, while also supporting organizational portfolio planning and governance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Research and Clinical Leads to develop innovative programs that maximize medical and commercial value.
  • Utilize project management tools to drive team alignment in creating development strategies, plans, and budgets for vaccine programs.
  • Analyze vaccine portfolio and strategy issues, preparing executive reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective team collaboration to advance program objectives and resolve project issues with key stakeholders.
  • Lead through influence and collaboration, addressing conflicts and making timely decisions in the best interest of the program.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management to facilitate decision-making processes.
  • Understand scientific mechanisms, disease pathophysiology, and competitive landscapes to inform program development.
  • Support vaccine portfolio prioritization and long-term planning for development management.

Requirements

  • BS degree in relevant biology, biochemistry, or related discipline.
  • 14+ years of experience, ideally with vaccine development expertise.
  • Training or academic background in vaccine R&D or business management.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in project management applicable to vaccine R&D.
  • Skilled in leading through influence and collaboration.
  • Experience in options, scenarios, and risk analysis.
  • Successful experience in developing scientific and business strategies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with diverse audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree (MS, Ph.D., MD) in relevant biology, biochemistry, or related discipline.
  • 12+ years of biotechnology experience with vaccine/drug development expertise with MS degree.
  • 9+ years of experience with PhD or 4+ years with MD.
  • Significant project management experience with cross-disciplinary teams in a matrix-based organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to influence, develop, and coach others.
