About the position

The Program Director at the Lincoln City Cultural Center is responsible for overseeing the management and administrative aspects of various mission-centric programs, including arts, culture, education, and community initiatives. This role involves coordinating events, managing volunteers, and ensuring effective communication within the organization. The Program Director will also lead the Cultural Advisory Committee and evaluate program effectiveness, all while fostering community engagement and support for the arts.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administrative aspects of arts, culture, education, and community programs, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Coordinate scheduling of the Center's spaces, staff, and volunteers to ensure effective and safe delivery of events and programs.
  • Maintain communication channels for internal and external Center users, including Google calendar, website, social media, and printed collateral.
  • Serve as director in charge during designated periods and emergencies.
  • Deliver one-time events and community programs, including planning, budgeting, and execution.
  • Lead the work of the organization's Cultural Advisory Committee and coordinate ongoing training in equity, inclusion, and access.
  • Manage the Cultural Center's volunteer program, providing impact and service to volunteers across the organization.
  • Regularly evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Create monthly and annual reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills with a talent for problem-solving and improving efficiency.
  • Friendly demeanor with dedication to community building and customer service.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Word, cloud-based scheduling systems, and social media platforms, with a willingness to learn new digital skills.
  • Experience in leading and managing people, including entry-level staff and volunteers.
  • Strong communication skills in English, with comfort in public speaking.
  • Affinity for visual and performing arts and belief in the power of the arts to change lives.
  • Capacity to perform job duties on-site at the Cultural Center, including some nights and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • A bachelor's degree (or above) in nonprofit management, arts administration, or business.
  • Experience in arts management or an arts-related business.
  • Professional experience across cultures and languages.
  • High level of proficiency in cloud-based scheduling systems and database management.
