About the position

The Program Director at Gateway Foundation is responsible for overseeing the integration of clinical services and milieu management to support program goals. This role involves managing personnel, ensuring compliance with regulations, and developing program budgets while providing essential services to underserved populations in a correctional healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the integration of clinical services and milieu management to support program goals.
  • Meets with supervisors, managers, vendors, and department officials to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
  • Provides integration effort updates to higher-level management with recommendations for cross-functional initiatives.
  • Audits, monitors, and evaluates assigned program services to ensure compliance with contractual and licensure requirements.
  • Initiates corrective actions to meet specifications for quality, quantity, schedule, and cost.
  • Oversees client services by auditing client records and conducting case reviews to ensure timely documentation.
  • Develops program budget projections and monitors expenditures, initiating corrective actions as needed.
  • Reviews financial reports for accuracy and compliance with budgetary and contractual obligations.
  • Prepares regular and special reports on financial status and program results for management review.
  • Assists management in developing and refining program policies and procedures.
  • Manages and leads assigned personnel to promote commitment to the organization's philosophy and mission.
  • Interviews, hires, evaluates, disciplines, and discharges subordinate staff.
  • Assists managers in resolving complex employee relations problems.
  • Responsible for quality control of programs and services across several facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, criminal justice, public health, or business administration.
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, mental health, or substance abuse counseling preferred.
  • Two years of relevant experience in a therapeutic community setting or management experience as a Program Director/Clinical Supervisor.
  • Current Certified Addictions Professional (CAP), Masters Certified Addictions Counselor (MCAP), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) required.
  • Strong knowledge of health administration regulations and standards, program funding, and applicable laws.
  • Strong communication, leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a correctional healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of federal and state rules governing health records confidentiality.
