About the position

Leidos is seeking a Program Engineer with over 5 years of experience in the utility or engineering consulting sector, specifically within the power industry. The role focuses on project management, including scheduling, resource coordination, and collaboration with electrical design teams for transmission projects. The engineer will lead project schedules, manage staff resources, and ensure quality control while maintaining compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations. This position is primarily remote but requires site visits and occasional travel for client meetings and industry events.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project workloads and schedule resources.
  • Attend project meetings and conduct site walkdowns.
  • Collaborate with electrical design teams for transmission projects.
  • Build project schedules and manage staff resource-loaded schedules.
  • Contribute to bids and proposal development.
  • Take a leadership role in an evolving team.
  • Focus on client projects and attend internal and client-facing meetings.
  • Procure necessary design inputs and oversee workflow.
  • Ensure quality control is maintained and design packages are submitted on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in the utility or engineering consulting industry.
  • Experience in managing projects and performing transmission engineering design.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or Workfront.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of programs.
  • Familiarity with transmission engineering design practices and quality control.
  • Familiarity with PLS-CADD software and NESC and MA CMR 220.

Nice-to-haves

  • PE Licensure.
  • Experience with MFAD software.
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Experience in front-facing client operations such as preliminary engineering consultation.
