About the position

Leidos is seeking a Program Engineer with over 5 years of experience in the utility or engineering consulting sector, particularly in the power industry. This role focuses on project management, including scheduling, resource coordination, and collaboration with electrical design teams for transmission projects. The engineer will lead project schedules, manage staff resources, and ensure quality control while maintaining compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations. The position requires site visits and occasional travel for client meetings and industry events.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project workloads and schedule resources.
  • Attend project meetings and site walkdowns.
  • Collaborate with electrical design teams for transmission projects.
  • Build project schedules and manage staff resource-loaded schedules.
  • Contribute to bids and proposal development.
  • Lead a team in project management activities.
  • Oversee workflow and ensure quality control of design packages.
  • Attend internal and client-facing meetings to procure necessary design inputs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in the utility or engineering consulting industry.
  • Familiarity with transmission engineering design practices and quality control.
  • Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or Workfront.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of programs.
  • Familiarity with PLS-CADD software and MFAD software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of NESC and MA CMR 220 regulations is required.
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • PE Licensure is preferred.
  • Experience in front-facing client operations such as preliminary engineering consultation and project setup.
