About The Position

The Program Excellence Director at Northrop Grumman is a leadership role focused on enhancing program management practices across the Defense Systems sector. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Department of Defense or Government contracts.
  • Experience leading teams to meet schedule, cost, and performance requirements.
  • Expertise in Northrop Grumman's Program Management processes and tools.
  • Proficiency in program planning, including cost and schedule baselines.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management and risk management practices.
  • Ability to effectively brief executives and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience operating in complex environments and influencing teams without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated teaching, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Current Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor program managers, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
  • Form and lead independent review teams to provide actionable feedback on various programs.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in sector-wide program management practices, focusing on execution, financial management, and risk management.
  • Advocate for consistent application of internal Program Management processes and tools.
  • Lead improvements in Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Earned Value Management (EVM) compliance.
  • Provide regular presentations to stakeholders and drive internal reporting systems for management decision-making.
  • Enforce rigorous Program Review Authority processes across the sector.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to improve program execution and alignment with business strategies.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives for program management practices and reporting systems.
  • Provide expert guidance on execution strategies for various proposal types.
