About the position

The Program Finance Senior Specialist position at General Dynamics Land Systems in Sterling Heights, MI, is a full-time role focused on financial management within the aerospace and defense sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly forecasts of orders, sales, earnings, and cash, while identifying opportunities and risks associated with these forecasts. This role requires the development of monthly Estimates at Completion (EAC) and conducting thorough financial analyses, including variance analysis and cost impacts. The Program Finance Senior Specialist will consolidate and report financial information to support Finance leadership and the Program Office, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and timely. In addition to these responsibilities, the specialist will lead efforts to provide monthly financial reports to external customers, known as Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs). They will support the program execution team by delivering timely and accurate financial data, analysis, and recommendations, collaborating closely with the Program Management team to maximize customer satisfaction. The role also involves supporting the enterprise in capturing new business opportunities and ensuring compliance with all internal and external audit requirements. The specialist will be expected to identify process improvements that lead to cost reductions or enhanced efficiency and participate in incentive contract negotiations, completing necessary analyses. Furthermore, the individual will serve as a mentor to department personnel, fostering a culture of learning and development within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly forecasts of orders, sales, earnings, and cash including identification of opportunities and risks.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor's degree in business required; Accounting or Finance majors preferred.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid understanding in EVMS principles, tools, and program execution preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, with emphasis on Excel.
  • Previous experience with Oracle, Hyperion, SmartView, OpenPlan, and Cobra preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented.
  • Aptitude to manage multiple tasks concurrently through organization and planning.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Perform under pressure to meet deadlines, provide timely updates, and communicate status to team members.
