About the position

The Program Finance Specialist at the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs, Inc. (KASAP) plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization and its member rape crisis centers. This position is responsible for providing training and technical assistance in accounting practices, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and assisting with financial reporting and audits. The role emphasizes a commitment to ending sexual violence and requires a collaborative approach to work within a diverse team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide monthly accounting training to local programs (virtual and in person)
  • Provide Financial Technical Assistance to statewide programs
  • Understand Core RCC services and ensure appropriate utilization of funds by statewide programs
  • Assist other accounting staff with bookkeeping for non-profit organization, including payroll, processing benefits, creating invoices etc.
  • Monitor and track grant related funds and provide necessary state and federal reporting
  • Remain up to date on best practices in accordance with GAAP, internal control measures, and federal and state grant requirements
  • Assist with annual audit preparation and association budget preparation
  • Other accounting and administrative responsibilities as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a business-related field with accounting/bookkeeping specialization required or comparable experience in accounting/bookkeeping for a non-profit agency
  • Commitment to ending sexual violence and a demonstrated ability to incorporate a multi-cultural and anti-oppression perspective into all levels of their work
  • Must be both self-directed and able to work in a team environment
  • Must be knowledgeable in diverse types of accounting practices
  • Must be familiar with state and federal grant requirement reporting and tracking
  • Must be able to provide monthly financial reports
  • Must be able to monitor and audit subcontractor financials
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel required; proficient in various accounting software packages
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects
