About the position

As a Program Finance Specialist at General Dynamics Mission Systems, you will play a crucial role in developing mission-critical systems that enhance safety and security. This position is integral to our team, which is dedicated to leveraging advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native, and Quantum Physics to address complex challenges across various domains, including cyber, RF, undersea, and interstellar operations. Your contributions will directly support our heroes in making a significant impact through the work we do. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing ad-hoc analyses that support contract and program analysts, as well as special projects as assigned. You will review and approve purchase requisitions for budgeted expenses within your authorized limit, ensuring that all expenses are accurately applied. A key aspect of your responsibilities will involve analyzing financial performance for assigned programs, identifying and reporting on any risks and funding issues that may arise. You will manage program financials for contracts of low complexity, primarily focusing on cost-plus contracts and standard products. Engaging directly with program management, you will work to understand financial performance and mitigate any program and contractual risks. Responsibilities

  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses to support contract and program analysts and special projects as assigned.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions for budgeted expenses up to authorized limit.
  • Ensure that expenses are applied correctly.
  • Analyze financial performance for assigned program(s) to identify and report on risk and funding issues.
  • Manage program financials for contracts of low complexity, predominantly cost-plus contracts and/or standard products.
  • Engage directly with program management to understand financial performance and mitigate program and contractual risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience is required.
  • An additional year of directly related experience is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze data and reconcile financial accounts.
  • Knowledge of Truth In Negotiations Act, Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulation, government accounting, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and Revenue Recognition ASC 606.
  • Outstanding time-management skills to meet multiple deadlines for various stakeholders.
