About the position

The Program Financial Controller at Starlab Space is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the Starlab Space Station Program. This role involves leading financial management efforts, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to optimize financial performance and provide insights for key program decisions in a transnational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with work package managers and IPT Managers to optimize financial and operational performance.
  • Lead the development of Estimate at Completion (EAC) calculations, including forecast adjustments, budget creation, and variance analysis.
  • Drive financial reporting for management reviews, focusing on KPIs, cost control, and compliance with program targets.
  • Partner with procurement to ensure accurate cost estimates for contracts and proposals.
  • Establish a comprehensive framework for risks and opportunities management, linking financial impacts to mitigation strategies.
  • Support monthly financial reporting processes, including variance analysis for budget vs. actuals and ETC tracking.
  • Manage all relevant data for project controlling and provide analysis to enable decision making at the management level.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of program expenses to the CBS and WBS structures.
  • Act as a financial partner in key program decisions, providing insights on cost implications and resource allocation.
  • Monitor the purchasing process and propose corrective actions when necessary.
  • Fulfill all program control requirements, including cost control and reporting.
  • Analyze the correlation between technical progress, actuals, and forecast consolidation of project data.
  • Support key change decisions in the project, including business cases and proposal preparation.

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering with a major in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • At least 10+ years of experience in finance-related activities with strong knowledge of financial management and data analytics.
  • Proficient in SAP and financial data reconciliation.
  • Experience in Multi-Program Management (WBS).
  • Strong financial skills with the ability to persuade and influence stakeholders.
  • Desirable experience in a start-up or fast-paced environment with successful stakeholder management.
  • Ability to anticipate, assess, and mitigate program risks.
  • Experience in ERP migration is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office; VBA programming is helpful.
