About the position

The Program Management & Acquisition Support professional at Space Systems Integration (SSI) will oversee the development, design, and production of a Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition program. This role involves providing recommendations to ensure that the vendor meets delivery schedules and cost parameters while achieving key performance metrics. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and technical expertise in space hardware and software integration, and will be a leader capable of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as program advisory lead for time-critical technical projects and tasks requiring technical expertise.
  • Assist with acquisition planning and drafting technical requirements and documents.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to verify program needs and meet project goals.
  • Help assess the technical sufficiency, cost, quality, and timely delivery of program deliverables.
  • Confer with engineers to provide technical advice and assist with problem resolution.
  • Support management and execution of programs consisting of multiple projects, ensuring proper coordination and resource efficiency.
  • Aid in the development of a Monthly Status Report on all support efforts, including updates on status, performance, and contractor performance.
  • Draft, review, and edit final program reports, documents, and briefings.
  • Support acquisition planning and development of documents required for systems acquisition.
  • Advise government management on design challenges, supply chain and production challenges, and support system program reviews.
  • Oversee efforts of less senior staff and be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to specific jobs.
  • Translate complex ideas and data into simple, actionable recommendations.
  • Communicate concisely and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience in space development programs for the DoD or IC.
  • Relevant BA/BS degree.
  • Relevant MA/MS degree.
  • Experience in the development and fielding of satellite systems through assembly, integration, and testing.
  • Experience with Space Vehicle and subsystem integration.
  • Experience in DoD acquisition management.
  • Understanding of operational environment and corresponding mission user needs.
  • Experience analyzing and developing contract data requirements lists and deliverables.
  • Experience with Integrated Master Schedules and risk management.
  • Active TOP SECRET clearance with sensitive compartmentalized information (SCI) and special access program (SAP) eligibility.
  • No less than two (2) years total SAP and/or SCI environment experience and 1-year total within the last 5 years.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience on space development programs in the DoD or IC.
  • Experience in production management and/or industrial engineering, including assessing availability and lead-time in ordering required parts.
  • Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programs.
  • Experience as a SETA in a government program office.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping.
  • Experience with integrated air, space, and cyberspace capabilities.
