About the position

The Program Management Assistant - Acquisition and Contracts will support the Naval Intelligence Activity (NIA) by assisting senior leaders in managing acquisition and contract processes. This role involves project management tasks, including policy review, contract management, and requirements management, while providing high-level program status reports to senior executives. The position is primarily on-site with optional teleworking capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the NIA Director of Acquisition and Contracts and other senior leaders.
  • Perform policy review and contract management tasks.
  • Gather program data from program managers and prepare high-level program status reports.
  • Ensure program data is properly captured and stored in knowledge databases.
  • Assist the program manager with project management duties, including monitoring program metrics.
  • Support the administration of large government contracts as needed.
  • Provide support for business transformation efforts and modernization of acquisition processes.
  • Ensure acquisition data in the Requirements and Procurement Management System (RPMS) is complete and accurate.
  • Support records management activities.

Requirements

  • Top Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • 3 years of experience in program/project coordination within acquisitions or contracting.
  • 3 years of experience in defining Acquisition and Contract Management processes.
  • Basic understanding of standard project management principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DoD/IC Acquisition procedures and policies.
  • Ability to visualize and summarize program metrics for leadership.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work within a team structure and with senior government leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with SharePoint collaboration tools.
  • Experience using programs based on the ServiceNow platform.
  • CAPM or PMP certification from PMI.
  • DAWIA certification(s).
  • Experience as a government Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
  • Experience using data and metrics to track progress and provide reports.
