About the position

The Program Management Assistant - Acquisition and Contracts at Amentum plays a crucial role in supporting the Naval Intelligence Activity (NIA) by assisting senior project managers and executives in managing acquisition and contract processes. This position involves a blend of project management responsibilities, including contract management, policy review, and data management, while also providing support for business transformation efforts within the organization. The role is primarily on-site with optional teleworking capabilities, making it a dynamic opportunity for individuals looking to enhance their project management skills in a high-visibility environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the NIA Director of Acquisition and Contracts and other senior leaders.
  • Perform contract management tasks, including gathering program data and preparing high-level program status reports.
  • Ensure program data is properly captured and stored in knowledge databases.
  • Assist the program manager with project management duties, including monitoring and tracking program metrics.
  • Support the administration of large government contracts as needed.
  • Assist in business transformation efforts and modernization of acquisition processes.
  • Ensure acquisition data in the Requirements and Procurement Management System (RPMS) is complete and accurate.
  • Support records management activities.

Requirements

  • Top Secret clearance at minimum; TS/SCI preferred.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • 3 years of experience in program/project coordination within acquisitions or contracting.
  • 3 years of experience in defining Acquisition and Contract Management processes and tracking success.
  • Basic understanding of standard project management principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DoD/IC Acquisition procedures and policies.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with overlapping deadlines.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to work within a team structure and with senior government leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with SharePoint collaboration tools.
  • Experience using ServiceNow platform programs.
  • CAPM or PMP certification from PMI.
  • DAWIA certification(s).
  • Experience as a government Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
  • Experience using data and metrics to track progress and report to senior executives.
