About the position

At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you'll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation. This position is part of an enterprise governance group that provides support to Freddie Mac divisions on Third Party Risk Management through capability development, project management, reporting, systems, and advisory services. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who enjoys leading, influencing outcomes, and defining how technology, business, and enterprise functions partner together. The Enterprise Third Party Office is currently seeking a Director to be responsible for management of a portfolio of significant and varied projects within the third party risk area, including change management, new capabilities and initiatives, process re-engineering, program budget development, and system implementation. This position manages a team and has oversight of the purpose, status, and plans of all projects within the portfolio as well as cross-project dependencies. You will engage directly with team members to ensure the success of each individual subordinate project and the achievement of business outcomes collectively. You will also establish operational objectives, formal implementation and detailed work plans, and high-level business requirements, with delegation of assignments to subordinate project managers. This role requires strong communication and conflict management skills, as well as the ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate impacts, scope, risks, and issues for complex enterprise projects. You will be expected to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences to ensure quality solutions and maintain regular interaction with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning budget and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with team members to ensure success of each individual subordinate project and achievement of business outcomes collectively.
  • Establish operational objectives, formal implementation and detailed work plans, and high level business requirements, with delegation of assignments to subordinate project managers.
  • Engage directly with business partners to identify initiatives and develop business cases.
  • Establish and assure adherence to an enterprise program budget.
  • Partner with IT and all divisions to facilitate transition and integration to new third party technology platform.
  • Manage successful delivery against defined objectives.
  • Interact with Enterprise and tech teams to ensure timelines and dependencies are understood and accounted for.
  • Establish relationships with multiple stakeholders to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations while preserving relationships.

Requirements

  • Greater than 12 years of related professional experience with 4+ years people management.
  • College Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred.
  • Strong quantitative, analytic, and project management skills.
  • Experience with leading technology and system implementation.
  • Strong communication and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate impacts, scope, risks, issues for complex enterprise projects.
  • Ability to communicate with technical as well as non-technical audiences to ensure quality solutions and regular interaction with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning budget and projects.
  • Broad knowledge of the firm and its key functions.
  • Experience with change management concepts and execution including communications and training.
  • Prior experience with project management in third party risk management or the financial industry a plus.
