About the position

The Program Manager (ACQ Director) position in Arlington, VA, is responsible for providing functional leadership and guidance for the evaluation, integration, and coordination of assigned programs and associated resources within the Army Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce. The role involves ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, maintaining liaison with various Army officials, and overseeing documentation preparation for acquisition matters. The incumbent will manage Army-wide program planning and implement policies related to acquisitions oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Provides functional leadership and guidance for the evaluation, integration, and coordination of assigned programs and associated resources.
  • Reviews ongoing processes and programs for compliance with existing laws, rules, regulations, and DA/DOD/Congressional directives.
  • Maintains liaison with Headquarters, Department of the Army staff, Army Acquisition Executive personnel, and other officials to ensure up-to-date awareness of acquisition program planning and programming.
  • Oversees the preparation of required documentation for submission to OSD, OMB, and Congress to support and defend coordinated Army positions on material acquisition matters.
  • Manages Army-wide program planning matters, formulating, implementing, interpreting, and evaluating policies and procedures relating to the direction, operation, and management of acquisitions oversight.
  • Performs the full range of administrative and technical duties.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Top Secret Clearance license.
  • One year of specialized experience in developing policies and procedures for acquisition program oversight, analyzing system/program acquisition strategies, and participating on high-level teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance as a condition of employment.
  • Must meet position requirements for Program Management Certification within 4 years of entrance on duty.
