About the position

The Program Manager (Acquisition) position at the Department of Defense (DIA) is a critical role that involves overseeing and managing acquisition programs to ensure successful operations within the agency. The incumbent will be responsible for developing acquisition plans that effectively manage risk and control program scope, while also establishing and maintaining strong relationships with acquisition program customers and stakeholders. This role requires excellent oral and written communication skills to compose and deliver clear, concise, and organized responses to complex questions. The Program Manager will apply decision-making techniques in complex situations, anticipating and recognizing best practices to maximize benefits to the office, directorate, or Agency. Flexibility and responsiveness to changing requirements, priorities, and short deadlines are essential attributes for success in this position. In addition to managing acquisitions involving multiple appropriations such as Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E), Operation & Maintenance (O&M), and Procurement, the Program Manager will also demonstrate experience in contract development, performance management, and oversight, including the associated reporting and notification procedures. The role is situated in Bethesda, MD, and requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance, along with the ability to pass a polygraph examination.
