About the position

The Assistant Program Manager will play a crucial role in managing new systems through their advanced development, production, and fielding phases. This position requires a thorough analysis of the impact that budget revisions and proposed adjustments may have on ongoing projects, with a focus on taking proactive measures to minimize any adverse effects. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating data related to both short- and long-term technical management, as well as financial objectives and requirements, to ensure that they remain informed about program progress and any anticipated challenges. In addition to these responsibilities, the Assistant Program Manager will oversee the coordination between assigned programs and other systems, ensuring that all functional inputs to the program are managed effectively. Maintaining direct communication channels with system users and the broader user community is essential for this role, as it facilitates the flow of information and feedback necessary for successful program execution. The position also requires the exercise of management control over all functional inputs to the program, ensuring that all aspects are aligned with the overall objectives and goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage new systems through advanced development, production, and fielding phases.
  • Analyze the impact of budget revisions and proposed adjustments on projects.
  • Take proactive actions to minimize adverse effects of budget changes.
  • Review and evaluate data related to technical management and financial objectives.
  • Oversee coordination between assigned programs and other systems.
  • Maintain direct communication with system users and the user community.
  • Exercise management control of all functional inputs to the program.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
  • One year of specialized experience in program management and acquisition lifecycle activities.
  • Experience executing cost, schedule, performance, and risk activities within the acquisition lifecycle framework.
  • Experience coordinating acquisition support activities to meet program objectives.
  • Experience supporting the development of complex contracting strategy planning/documentation.
  • Experience executing contracting officer representative duties for assigned contracts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with federal employment and understanding of the federal hiring process.
  • Familiarity with the Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce requirements.
