About the position

Lockheed Martin's Missile and Fire Control is seeking a Program Manager, Associate to manage day-to-day activities of the Santa Barbara Focalplane programs. This role involves overseeing cost, schedule, contract requirements, and program execution while leading a highly technical team. The Program Manager will also be responsible for customer communication, proposal coordination, and ensuring successful program execution under aggressive timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of LM Santa Barbara Focalplane programs.
  • Oversee production execution and lead program meetings.
  • Assist with proposal coordination and input for new business capture efforts.
  • Be responsible for customer interface and communication to program teams.
  • Lead a highly technical team of engineers and learn the technology involved.
  • Ensure compliance with cost and schedule requirements.

Requirements

  • Program / Project Management experience.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of personnel and internal and external customers.
  • Understanding of program execution and its effects on business operations.
  • Innovative problem solver capable of resolving issues.
  • Knowledge of project and program management methodology and techniques.
  • Ability to accomplish business/program goals without day-to-day direction.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, earned value management, and resource allocation.
  • Working knowledge of program cost/scheduling tools (Microsoft Project, SAP, etc.).
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance; must be a US citizen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in project management with the ability to effectively lead a team to accomplish critical strategic objectives.
  • Program management experience managing complex technology development programs.
  • Experience in managing programs with subcontracts key to program performance.
  • Motivational, mentorship, and negotiation skills necessary to achieve program performance.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with the development and manufacturing of IR sensors, LIDAR, and associated technologies for military, scientific, and/or commercial sensing applications.
  • Active Secret clearance.
