About the position

The Program Manager B for the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania is responsible for overseeing the clinical research portfolio of the Airways Research Team. This role involves managing the start-to-end processes of clinical trials, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance research operations. The Program Manager will supervise research staff, manage budgets, and ensure the successful execution of clinical trials aimed at improving cancer care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the clinical research portfolio for the Airways Research Team.
  • Manage study start-up processes and ongoing study management.
  • Assist with study feasibility, selection, and prioritization of the team's work.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop project plans and support daily operations.
  • Supervise clinical research staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Monitor and report on the status of all studies within the group, including accrual and data entry.
  • Coordinate study team meetings and ensure adherence to protocol requirements.
  • Develop and maintain study-specific documentation and tools.

Requirements

  • Master's degree and 3-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Oncology clinical research experience preferred.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of IRB and human research protection regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electronic Clinical Trials Management Systems (CTMS).
  • Familiarity with GCP, FDA, and applicable regulatory bodies.
