About the position

The Program Manager B for the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania is responsible for overseeing the clinical research portfolio of the Airways Research Team. This role involves managing the start-to-end processes of clinical trials, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance research operations. The Program Manager will supervise research staff, manage budgets, and ensure the successful execution of clinical trials aimed at improving cancer care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the clinical research portfolio for the Airways Research Team.
  • Manage study start-up processes and ongoing study management.
  • Assist with study feasibility, selection, and prioritization of the team's work.
  • Collaborate with regulatory coordinators to manage and initiate trials.
  • Actively manage ongoing research projects and troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Supervise clinical research staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to develop project plans.
  • Monitor patient recruitment and enrollment according to protocol requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and maintain documentation for studies.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of study-specific tools and forms.

Requirements

  • Master's degree and 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Oncology clinical research experience preferred.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Knowledge of IRB and human research protection regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electronic Clinical Trials Management Systems (CTMS).
  • Familiarity with GCP, FDA regulations, and clinical trial processes.
