About the position

The Program Manager for Community Building (CB) at Washington University in St. Louis is responsible for overseeing the planning and operations of various community-building programs. This role serves as the primary point of contact for the CB Program, coordinating efforts among cross-functional teams that include students, staff, and faculty. The manager will encourage education, training, and dialogue about current events on college campuses, fostering an inclusive environment for all participants. This position is time-limited for two years, emphasizing the need for effective program management and collaboration across different departments. In this role, the Program Manager will develop and deliver communications and marketing strategies, including website content and publication requests, in consultation with the Student Affairs Marketing and Communications team. They will also partner with the Student Affairs Assessment & Analytics Team to establish baseline data and gather post-event feedback to assess the effectiveness of programs. Supervising graduate student employees is a key responsibility, ensuring that the team is well-coordinated and that operational standards are maintained. The Program Manager will work closely with the Demonstrations & Disruptions Team to coordinate various teams, assign roles, and uphold operational standards. Collaboration with campus partners, both within and outside of Student Affairs, is essential to develop a wide range of offerings related to campus issues, such as community service events and symposiums on significant topics. Additionally, the manager will support and guide program/event coordination, which may include orientation events and speaker engagements, while also performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point person for the CB Program with internal and external contacts.
  • Develop and deliver communications, marketing, and website content in consultation with Student Affairs Marketing and Communications.
  • Partner with Student Affairs Assessment & Analytics Team to develop baseline data and post-event feedback.
  • Supervise graduate student employees.
  • Coordinate with the Demonstrations & Disruptions Team to assign roles and maintain operational standards.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to develop offerings related to campus issues.
  • Support program/event coordination in collaboration with the CB Event Coordinator.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • Relevant experience of 3 years.
