About the position

The Program Manager for Community Schools at Bret Harte Middle School is responsible for leading the development and management of a full-service community school. This role involves assessing community needs, coordinating support services for students and families, and fostering partnerships with various agencies to enhance educational and social resources available to the school community.

Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership under the direction of the Site Administrator and assigned Family, Schools, and Community Partnerships Supervisor.
  • Manage and lead the development of a seamless system of support services for students and families.
  • Facilitate and provide technical assistance to various school leadership teams.
  • Develop, manage, and oversee the implementation of an effective referral process.
  • Conduct outreach to students and families about available resources and assess outreach effectiveness.
  • Train and support service providers to align programs with school structures and goals.
  • Integrate academic and non-academic supports with school staff and administration.
  • Establish systems to manage and maintain quality partnerships with agencies.
  • Provide support and guidance for school staff and partners in service delivery issues.
  • Develop and sustain partnerships with city, county, and non-profit agencies.
  • Act as point person for agencies interested in partnering with the school.
  • Facilitate integration of site-based services with other District programs.
  • Support youth leadership, parent engagement, and family support initiatives.
  • Design programs to support student transitions.
  • Manage the development of new programs and service provider selection.
  • Provide training to ensure cultural and linguistic appropriateness of services.
  • Assist with resource management and fund development.
  • Facilitate data sharing between school and agencies.
  • Assist with program evaluation and reporting.
  • Coordinate allocation of space for support services and events.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Provide cross-training to other staff members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Three years of relevant experience in student and/or family support areas.
  • Experience working in an urban school setting preferred.
  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • Employment eligibility includes fingerprints, tuberculosis, and/or other employment clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with community outreach and engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of local community-based organizations providing mental health services.
  • Familiarity with research methods and report writing.
