About the position

The Program Manager - Consumer Experience at Elevance Health plays a crucial role in the development and ongoing management of multi-year external client-facing programs within a business unit. This position is pivotal in supporting business strategies through an integrated portfolio of projects or initiatives aimed at enhancing the client experience. The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of these programs, ensuring they meet their stated objectives and align with the company's strategic goals. This includes managing the development, approval, implementation, and compliance of ongoing programs, as well as developing and managing the program budget. In this role, the Program Manager will provide subject matter expertise to address day-to-day external client-facing business issues. They will also be responsible for researching applicable subject matter practices and staying informed about industry trends to ensure the programs remain relevant and effective. Building and maintaining strong external client-facing relationships is essential, as the Program Manager will partner with various corporate and regional business areas to facilitate program success. The position also involves coordinating training related to the external client-facing program, developing success measures, and performing periodic assessments to evaluate program effectiveness. Administrative tasks such as scheduling and planning in-person meetings, assisting with travel arrangements for senior leaders, and preparing materials for executive meetings are also part of the responsibilities. The Program Manager will play a key role in supporting organizational health and culture-building activities, contributing to the overall success of the team and the company.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and coordinates the development, approval, implementation, and compliance of ongoing external client-facing programs.
  • Develops program budget and ensures program meets its stated objectives.
  • Provides subject matter expertise in response to day-to-day external client-facing business issues.
  • Researches applicable subject matter practices and remains aware of industry trends.
  • Manages external client-facing relationships and partners with corporate and regional business areas.
  • Coordinates training related to external client-facing programs and develops program success measures.
  • Performs periodic assessments of program success.
  • Assists in scheduling/planning in-person meetings, including room reservations and catering.
  • Assists in scheduling meetings with senior-level leaders.
  • Reviews, validates, and approves expense reports for the VP and VP's direct reports.
  • Creates and submits travel approval requests for VP and SLT approval.
  • Keeps track of the number of associates approved for travel each month.
  • Sends reminders to leaders regarding important deadlines and monitors team progress against completion.
  • Gathers and prepares materials for various VP's 1-1s with senior leaders.
  • Assists with staff meeting preparation, materials, and follow-ups.
  • Supports organizational health and culture-building activities, such as newsletters and town hall meetings.
  • Assists in the development of executive-level presentations.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 5 years of external client-facing experience in program/project management.
  • Any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background is acceptable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • Project management certification preferred.
  • Proficient to Expert in PowerPoint highly preferred.
  • Management consulting and storytelling experience preferred.
