About the position

The Data Specialist will be responsible for managing data systems and overseeing data collection efforts. This role involves ensuring data accuracy, maintaining documentation, and providing technical assistance and training to staff on data systems. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders to meet reporting needs and develop data management protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manage data systems and data collection efforts.
• Draft, refine, and maintain data collection tools, systems, and databases.
• Oversee the use of data systems and become an expert in navigating and pulling data from these systems.
• Check data for accuracy and develop data cleaning and management protocols.
• Maintain documentation of data collection activities, including data files, data dictionaries, and codebooks.
• Meet weekly or biweekly with other data system stakeholders to collaborate on shared database and reporting needs.
• Provide technical assistance and training to program and provider staff on data entry, report generation, and use of data systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (data science preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing and analyzing data.
• Experience managing and analyzing data in Excel, Tableau, and/or Power BI for at least 3 years.
• Experience creating data visualizations, dashboards, and analytical reports in Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
• SQL and Python experience is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in data science coursework or related fields.
