About the position

The Program Manager for Decarb at Dartmouth College is responsible for the execution and management of specific capital programs that bundle a group of capital projects with a common objective. This role involves overseeing the successful delivery of assigned capital projects, which includes planning, estimating, budget control, permitting, construction, scheduling, reporting, and problem-solving. The position plays a crucial role in supporting the Senior Director of Project Management Services and senior College leadership in achieving project priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute specific capital programs as defined by senior leadership.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of capital projects, including planning, estimating, and budget control.
  • Ensure compliance with permitting and construction schedules.
  • Report on project progress and resolve any issues that arise during execution.
  • Collaborate with direct reports and external project managers to achieve project goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (engineering or architecture) or related to construction or project management or equivalent experience.
  • Ten years of direct experience in planning, design, and management of major capital construction projects, including LEED certified buildings.
  • Documented success in meeting budget and schedule targets.
  • Skills in interpreting architectural and construction contracts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with high-performance buildings and landscape design.
  • Knowledge of utility systems and energy-efficient building systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse constituencies.
  • Familiarity with Town, State, and Federal codes and ordinances.
  • Knowledge of OSHA construction safety standards and regulations.
