The position of Program Manager for the Rodent Abatement Management Program at PG&E is critical in mitigating pest impacts on dams, water conveyance, and powerhouse assets. This role involves developing and managing a comprehensive strategy to address pest issues, particularly focusing on rodent abatement while also supporting vegetation management across five river watershed areas, which include 163 dams/reservoirs and over 300 miles of water conveyance assets. The Program Manager will be responsible for creating long-term risk mitigation plans and will work closely with Hydro Operations, Dam Safety Engineers, and Asset Program Leads to prioritize work products effectively. In this role, the Program Manager will collaborate with the Natural Resource Management Department, which includes Registered Professional Foresters and Certified Arborists, as well as Subject Matter Expert Pest Control Advisors (PCA). The responsibilities will encompass executing risk reduction work and services, which include weed and brush control, brush removal, hazard tree removal, and pesticide applications. Additionally, the Program Manager will oversee the vegetation management and rodent abatement asset management plans, ensuring that the necessary funding is informed and that implementation budgets are managed effectively. This position is hybrid, allowing for remote work while also requiring presence at assigned locations based on business needs. Candidates located near Chico and Auburn are preferred. The role demands a commitment to safety, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and the ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences. The Program Manager will also be expected to lead large and complex projects, influencing decisions across various functions within the organization.
