About the position

The Program Manager for Finance and Business Integration (FBI) at Amazon will lead initiatives aimed at automating technical debt within the Stores accounting organization. This role involves collaborating with business and tech teams to streamline processes, reduce manual efforts, and influence the strategic direction of tech debt automation projects. The position offers the opportunity to manage complex projects that span various domains, providing a comprehensive understanding of Stores processes and significant involvement in high-impact automation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with tech teams and global Stores Accounting to develop, influence and prioritize tech debt reduction roadmaps.
  • Own end to end delivery of complex and high visibility tech debt automation projects, including planning, requirements gathering, design, testing and launch.
  • Develop SME knowledge in domains such as Inventory, Vendor funding, and Marketplace by deep diving into business models, systems, and transaction flows.
  • Participate in system and automation design discussions with tech and Accounting to design scalable automation solutions.
  • Identify automation paths for uncommitted tech debt with Accounting & Tech partners.
  • Write executive level documents to influence core stakeholders to take action to accelerate automation.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA
  • Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
  • Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients.
  • Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions.
  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience managing accounting/finance process improvement and/or technology projects with aggressive schedules.
  • 5+ years of program/project management experience in a mid-size or large company with a proven record of successful delivery and customer obsession.
