About the position

The Program Manager for Geriatrics and Palliative Care at NYU Langone Health is responsible for leading the growth of the research mission within the Division. This role involves strategic planning, program management, and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance research capabilities and outcomes in geriatrics and palliative care. The position requires a strong focus on developing innovative research projects, securing funding, and mentoring junior staff to foster a productive research environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to expand the research mission of the Division.
  • Oversee the execution of research programs, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing project timelines.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities, managing grant applications and compliance.
  • Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate collaborations.
  • Support the development and implementation of innovative research projects and initiatives.
  • Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Support the collection, management, and analysis of research data, ensuring data integrity.
  • Prepare and present reports and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff and research teams.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Health Administration, Medicine) is required; a PhD or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in program management, research administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful research program development and management.
  • Experience in geriatrics or palliative care research is highly desirable.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
