About the position

Rohde & Schwarz has an opening in the Program Management department in our Columbia, MD North American headquarters. This position is an entry/mid-level position that provides the candidate the ability to affect program execution and to exhibit management skills in both pre-award and execution phases of our programs. In this position, you will interface with sales, operations, contracts and customers in bidding and planning and executing projects. This position reports to the Manager of Government Programs and provides an excellent opportunity to excel in a variety of business processes and management skills within our organization. This is an opportunity for a candidate with an aptitude for organization, attention to detail to further develop management skills and be a significant contributor to our continued success. This is not a remote position - candidates must live within a commutable distance of the greater Baltimore area.

Responsibilities

  • Support Sales in the development of proposals and quotations
  • Project Management Execution - Lead the execution of projects to meet customer and internal expectations
  • Act as the primary customer interface during program execution including leading key customer reviews
  • Subcontractor management for project execution
  • Develop and track project schedules
  • Develop and prepare project estimates and manage to established budgets
  • Track action items and their resolution
  • Develop and present project status reports
  • Use customer management skills to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Act as the lead for customer issue resolution during delivery/execution phases of projects
  • Interface with our parent company in Germany and Subsidiary Partners
  • Prepare Statements of Work, Risk Analysis, SOW Task Estimates
  • Create and manage proposal material and templates
  • Assist in managing / tracking of R&S Product deliveries
  • Domestic and/or Overseas Travel <25%

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required
  • BA/BS: Business, Management, Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year experience in Project or Program Management
  • Ability to create well organized clear presentation of information in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Skilled in use of MS Excel / MS Project for reporting and program planning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance and / or Public Trust approval
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and highly organized.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the federal (foreign and/or domestic) space is a plus
  • Earned Value experience is a plus
  • Experience managing software development projects is a plus
  • Experience managing international suppliers is a plus
  • PMP Certification is preferred
  • Technical understanding in facets of VoIP, Air Traffic Control, UHF/VHF//HF Radio operation/control, and/or Networking background is a plus
