About the position

The Training and Education Manager for the Division of Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) is responsible for overseeing the development and administration of training initiatives for the division. This role involves creating and facilitating training programs for staff, ensuring compliance with performance measures, and leading a team within the Training Unit. The position plays a crucial role in preparing employees for their responsibilities and ensuring they are well-versed in the FAMLI program's regulations and technological platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the day-to-day operations of the Training Unit.
  • Develop, coordinate, and lead effective training programs in support of core functions and business processes for FAMLI.
  • Conduct formal supervisory reviews and hold staff accountable through data-driven performance reviews.
  • Analyze data and metrics related to the Training unit to anticipate workload fluctuations.
  • Facilitate FAMLI-specific orientation sessions for new employees.
  • Review ongoing FAMLI training initiatives to determine effectiveness and need for revisions or upgrades.
  • Monitor and manage the budget for the Training team while ensuring accurate accounting and reporting.
  • Implement project management practices, including task plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Train staff on FAMLI law regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, training and development, organization development, or a related field.
  • At least six years of experience in job training and education or related role, including designing curricula and training trainers.
  • Experience in managing or supervising subordinate positions.
  • Track record of designing and delivering successful training programs for a variety of roles and topics.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS).

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity or experience with the Cornerstone learning management system.
  • Experience with training and education in regulatory environments.
