About the position

The Program Manager I at Marotta Controls, Inc. is responsible for leading multiple aerospace and military engineering and manufacturing Integrated Product Development (IPD) teams through various project phases, including design, development, qualification, and Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP). This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring project planning, progress measurement, scope control, and status reporting to executive management and customers. The Program Manager will also engage in business development activities and coordinate initiatives across assigned market segments, contributing to the company's growth and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate activities to satisfy customer contract scope/statement of work.
  • Drive achievement of major milestones and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers.
  • Manage NRE Cost, Design to Cost, and Schedule performance for assigned projects.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction for assigned projects.
  • Create and release project Work Breakdown Schedule.
  • Create and maintain project Integrated Master Schedule.
  • Facilitate IPD Team meetings, documenting minutes and maintaining Action Item Lists.
  • Review and create labor and material plans and cost reports.
  • Control project scope and resolve project cost, schedule, and technical performance issues.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to higher management levels.
  • Manage project NRE expenditures to within 10% of Budget at Completion (BAC).
  • Ensure on-time delivery of major milestones within 2 weeks of baseline.
  • Provide Program Management support for new business proposals and create PM deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities to grow business content with project customers.
  • Support significant proposals with related PMO inputs and scrub proposal Bases of Estimate.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within Marotta, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Identify existing and evolving customer needs to expand product offerings.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales targets to ensure company volume and profitability goals.
  • Detect risks early and demonstrate the highest ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering, science, or business discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in aerospace and/or military mechanical and/or electrical component and/or systems engineering design, development, and manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in the Space industry preferred.
  • Understanding of basic PM principles, such as those promoted by the Project Management Institute.
  • Exemplary verbal/written communication skills for interactions with all levels of personnel and external agents.
  • Highly computer literate, with MS Office/PC expertise.
