The Program Manager I is a critical role within the US Marshal Service (USMS) responsible for providing comprehensive management to various projects within the USMS HQ Divisions. This position requires a candidate who can operate effectively within established parameters while also being able to seek clarification from management when faced with situations that fall outside of these parameters. The individual in this role must demonstrate the ability to take direction and work independently, ensuring that all projects are managed efficiently and effectively. The Program Manager I will assist the managers of the USMS HQ Divisions by offering oversight and direction for both planned and ongoing projects, thereby contributing to the smooth operation of the USMS's initiatives. The risk level associated with this position is significant, ranging from moderate to top secret security, and candidates must be prepared to undergo a thorough background investigation. In this role, the Program Manager I will be tasked with a variety of duties that include the management, planning, coordination, administration, and execution of all USMS programs at headquarters. This includes overseeing ongoing projects and engaging with counterparts in other agencies as necessary. The Program Manager I will also be responsible for preparing correspondence for management signatures, interpreting existing rules, regulations, and USMS policies, and developing and analyzing program resource requests. Additionally, the role involves preparing reports, memoranda, briefing papers, and other written materials for both internal and external use, as well as reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness. A strong understanding of federal government regulations is essential, along with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, and excellent interpersonal relations skills are crucial for success in this position.
