About the position

The Program Manager II position at the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) focuses on maximizing sales and revenues for Lottery products across Maryland. The role involves managing regional sales and service teams, overseeing the qualification of potential Lottery retail locations, and ensuring compliance with agency procedures. The position is integral to maintaining the retailer network and enhancing sales through effective training and promotional strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned regional sales and service teams to improve Lottery sales and performance.
  • Hire, train, complete performance appraisals, and discipline the field sales team as needed.
  • Conduct monthly retailer visits to ensure Sales Division goals are met at each retailer location.
  • Participate in the management of the Lottery retailer onboarding process.
  • Review potential new Lottery retailer locations and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Implement changes to improve efficiency in onboarding processes.
  • Assist other Lottery Divisions as necessary and participate in special projects.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • 5-7 years of consumer products relevant work experience, preferably in field sales and sales management.
  • Experience in hiring, managing, training, and developing sales personnel.
  • Proven record of success with the entire sales process.
  • Experience in building and maintaining internal/external relationships.
  • Experience managing projects from inception to completion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Three to five years selling Lottery and/or consumer products to grocery, convenience/department store or mass merchandiser trade channels.
  • Self-sufficient with Sales Force Automation (SFA) tools and standard PC software programs.

  • Full-Time employment with a competitive salary range of $78,919.00 - $127,473.00/year.
