About the position

The Program Manager II for North America Direct Fulfillment Operations at Amazon is responsible for leading initiatives to expand the 1P carrier adoption and onboarding among vendors. This role involves collaborating with various partners to align capacity with demand, negotiating with transportation providers, and developing mechanisms for performance visibility. The position is crucial for driving operational excellence and growth in the Direct Fulfillment channel, which allows Amazon to fulfill customer orders directly from vendor warehouses.

Responsibilities

  • Work on 1P business development opportunities to expand the 1P carrier adoption and onboarding amongst the vendors.
  • Work with partners in Amazon logistics business, Amazon Procurement, and 1P Carriers to align capacity to demand, with respect to origin location, size, special handling requirements, and speed expectations.
  • Build alignment with internal and external transportation providers; negotiate and deliver incremental carrier capacity when needed to meet program volume, particularly for Prime week and Peak season.
  • Develop mechanisms to provide visibility to performance and hold partners accountable.
  • Work with Direct Fulfillment colleagues in Business Development, Account Management, Product, Tech as well as Amazon internal carriers to build processes and tools to enable scalable and flexible operations and drive growth towards program goals.
  • Influence the vision and detailed requirements for automated solutions to enable our business to manage key levers like transit time, transit time contingencies, and carrier capacity.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
